What is your job title, and what does that position entail?
I am a Test Technician and my job is to make sure that the Arctic Robots are healthy before finding their way to OQC.
How long have you worked at Olympus, where did you come from? A little history of how you got involved with Olympus?
I have been working at Olympus Controls full time since November 2018, but started as a temporary worker via Aerotek in June of 2018. My previous work included positions at DWFritz, Rockwell Collins, and Microsoft.
What do you like best about working at Olympus?
There’s a strong sense of family here. The other people here aren’t just coworkers, they’re friends.
Describe a little of your past history.
I went to school at Wilsonville High School but then pretty much just jumped right into the workforce. All the skills and knowledge I have are things I’ve picked up along the way or have taught to myself.
Describe some of your hobbies – what do you like to do outside of work?
I usually spend my free time being a general nerd – playing video games or watching Sci-Fi.
What are some key lessons you have taken from your career thus far?
Always listen to the people around you. Even if you feel that they have no idea what they’re talking about – every voice should be heard. Who knows, they might teach you something.
What is one thing you customers might find surprising about you?
When I’m not at work or being a nerd, I’m a voice actor on the side.
